Title: Late Afternoon on Fire Island

Medium: Oil Paint on Skate Deck

Studied at Art Student League of New York, National Academy of Art, and Grand Central Academy - all in NYC

I was drawn to art and nature as a child.  I would become immersed staring at trees on long car rides or spending my time at the beach watching the waves crash.  I painted and drew alone in my room.  As a child, I wouldn't say that I was discouraged from becoming an artist, but I was not encouraged.

I became a Registered Nurse and worked in critical care until one of my three daughters became ill.  I quit my job from the cardiac cath lab and stayed with my daughter while she recovered from surgery.  I never returned as a nurse, and I began studying art in New York City.

Among the artists with whom I had the privilege of studying were Max Ginsburg, Gregg Kreutz, Frank Mason, Nelson Shanks, and Harvey Dinnerstein.  During my first painting classes I felt like I had come home, and that I had tapped into my true essence.

I've been a resident artist member of Salmagundi Club since 2007, The Art Students' League of New York, and Oil Painters Of America. I'm an elected member of American Artists' Professional League and Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club.

I owned and operated "Chelsea A Place For Artists"- a gallery and studio in Huntington, NY where I exhibited, instructed and hosted numerous workshops taught by world-class artists.

I have won numerous awards such as the "Eva & Manes Lichtenberg Award for Traditional Landscape in oil" from Allied Artists' of America as well as exhibited the painting in The Butler Institute of American Art, in Youngstown, OH. I have received the Sylvia Glesmann award for Floral and Still Life from the prestigious Salmagundi Art Club in NYC. I am a recipient of awards from The Art Students' League in NYC, The Art Guild in Port Washington, NY and The Bayard Cutting Aboretum in Oakdale, NY.

I have been selected to judge numerous art shows, and my paintings hang in many private collections.
